Unofficial Newsbiscuit Writer of the Month Competition

Well the results are in and it's no real surprise that Wrenfoe gets to wear the mug again for one more month.  It's been fun balancing it on the avatar for the last week, but the responsibility of holding onto the ceremonial mug is great - er, it was chipped already when I took control on May 1st, wasn't it. The competition has slowed down over the last week, given the circumstances that's not a big surprise, but really Wren had it in the bag before the tragic events last week.  He deserves to wear the mug again, however the race for second place couldn't have been keener, so well done all at the top of the chart.  And without all the contributions from everyone on this list, whether they scored 34 points or a solitary point, we wouldn't have Newsbiscuit at all, so although only one person gets to wear the virtual porcelain, all contributions are truly welcome. End of week three and there's a real competition going on for the first place.  Although Wrenfoe is out in front at the moment, I wouldn't like to call the final score yet.  Cast an eye over the names closely following the mighty Wren and you'll find some strong contenders. In particular Deceangli and harrypalmer are slugging it out between them. But never mind the front runners, look at the ticker count. There have been way over 100 tickers this month already and some of the ticker writers have ratcheted up a high score on the back of these one point one-liners. Special note should go to DavidH, Cinquecento, Maxine Jones and Titus who between them have racked up over forty tickers these month.  Great work guys, the ticker is often harder to craft than the longer pieces of work.  I think we should have a ticker writer of the month sub competition to mark the fine efforts of the one line writers. A real battle is brewing at the top of the table in this second week, with Wrenfoe flexing his comic mustles to good effect.  However harrypalmer isn't taking this sitting down and is only a few, well four, points behind.  To be fair Deceangli, SimonJJames and Cinquecento are pushing strong too. Something else to look at, though, is the tickers.  I think we should have a ticker writer of the month for this art form.  Because tickers only accrue 1 point each time, the dedicated ticker writers are always going to struggle up the league table.  Currently Cinquecento has had 7 tickers published this month - that's pretty impressive.  However I notice that DavidH andDominic_mcg are both scoring 6 tickers each, so there's a bit of an unofficial battle going on there too.
